This is a great list.

"that many overweight people seem to be in the same boat as me – we could tell you nutritional and food information up on side and down the other. The challenge continues to be in applying that information to our own lives."

I'm not over weight but this comment resonates with me so deeply. Everyday it is a battle to make the choice to apply this information to my life. I wish I could say that it was all easy, fun, and that I "love" good food and exercise. Well I do "love" it all but I also love a lot of things that are not so great. "Balance" just doesn't come easy for me so everyday is a challenge regardless of my weight.

I've read almost all of Jane Goodall (for a paper in college), and I LOVE her. I can't wait to read this. Thanks! You're so going to kick butt at this gardening thing. It's a great workout (well, it burns some calories, anyway), and it makes you so conscious of what you put in your mouth. Plus, YUM!

Those books on your list are so great. I have read quite a few of them. Another good one is The End of Overeating. The author's name has escaped me at the moment!

I was so excited to read your post about gardening and it is making me want to realize my dream of a backyard garden. The documentary Food Inc. and the "Eat this, Not That" books totally changed the way I looked at food. I have made note of some of your recommendations and can't wait to start reading!
